CRAFT

This initiative offers a unique, paid opportunity for emerging arts workers to gain hands-on, observational experience in leading theatre institutions. Over one immersive week (40 hours), selected participants shadow professional teams during live productions, rehearsals, and behind-the-scenes activities, gaining experience into the creative and operational processes of professional theatre-making.

We are launching a new series called Craft with this exciting opportunity to shadow world renowned lighting designer, Adam Silverman. Adam will be designing the lights for ‘The Only Tune’ - a new work of Michael Keegan Dolan in collaboration with Nico Muhly, Sam Amidon and the Britten Sinfonia for Sadler’s Wells, London.

This is a practical professional development opportunity for early to mid-career lighting designers. You will observe Adam’s process as he designs for this UK premiere.

Adam is a regular collaborator of Michael Keegan-Dolan and this is a unique opportunity to learn in a show environment. We are seeking a lighting designer with experience and knowledge, and an understanding of the dynamics of the rehearsal room and technical rehearsals.

You will receive a stipend of €600. We will provide a travel/accommodation bursary of up to €400. Maximum hours of work: 40 hours.

To apply, please send your CV, including details of a referee, and a 1 page cover letter outlining your interest in Adam’s work and process. We will also accept a 3-minute video file in lieu of a cover letter, please send as a wetransfer file.

Send to: zoe@corktheatrecollective.com DEADLINE Monday 15th September at 5pm

The dates of the engagement are: 10 & 11th November in Dingle (rehearsals). 15th-20th in London (rehearsal/tech/premiere).
