Plans for the year.

Hello! My name is Zoe Ní Riordáin, I’m a theatre maker from Dublin. I am the new Creative Director at Cork Theatre Collective (CTC). This is a really exciting new project, based in the studio space at Triskel Arts Centre in Cork City. Following the closure of Corcadorca in 2022, a group of leading Cork institutions and companies got together to make sure that new theatre continued to be funded and supported in the county.

The Everyman, Once Off Productions, Cork Midsummer Festival, Cork Arts Theatre, Cork Opera House, Graffiti Theatre are the partners. This kind of collaboration doesn’t happen all the time in theatre. Across Cork, there is a big commitment being made to artists. CTC is a new part of the creative landscape here. We are on a mission to put it on the map.

I’m so delighted to be here to work with Charlotte and Laura and the partners on building a new home for theatre in Cork. We are making plans in the coming weeks, and I would love to hear from you. I’m keen to see as much theatre in Cork as I can, get to know artists across the county and collaborate with new partners.

There will be a call out for a new set of funded residencies coming soon. Sign up to our newsletter (under construction) so that you know what’s going on. Tá Gaeilge agam, so is féidir teangmháil a dhéanamh liom sa teanga.

I hope this blog can be an informal space for resident artists and the Collective community to share thoughts, ideas and responses to their time in the studio.

I am an experimental artist and I want to give back to a community that I have gained so much from. CTC is endeavouring to focus on artistic excellence, urgent ideas and sharing power.

More to come.

Le meas,

Zoe
